PPI/Prevacid Headaches
Recently developed persistent dull headaches on the back left side of my head after doubling my daily Lansoprazole dose from 30 mg to 60 mg. Never had headaches like this before in my life...this is the 16th consecutive day with a headache! Have been off the PPI for two days now (per doctor's recommendation), but still no relief from my headaches. Does it take a while for the side effects from Prevacid to wear off?

The medicine should be out of your system in 1-2 weeks. I hope you'll feel better. I get the headache with all the ppis, but unfortunately I need the medicine to be able to eat.

I got headaches from being on Lansoprazole/ omeprazole, but also from coming off it, or changing the dose. It is the change in chemicals that causes the reaction, hence the headaches should ease after a few days.
