Barron symptoms

I'm just getting off zantac BC my liver is getting shot. This time seening off it faster. Now I'm feeling stinging, soreness from upper abs to lower throat. When I work out it feels painful behind my chest when I stretch that area in certain movements. Is this symptoms of Barrett's? Or just badly inflammed. Going try another week n see if gets better if not go hospital and ask them look inside. Also, has anyone fixed a hiatal hernia and symptoms got better? Doc told me not to bother as it comes back but Im going look for someone who will regardless if I have pay in the us.

Re: Barron symptoms

Hi Gonzoe! It sounds to me that you are feeling your Hiatal Hernia (sp). I have Barrett's, was dx 4 years ago and I can't feel anything where the Barrett cells are. I really don't know of any symptoms of Barrett's and was told by my GI that most people that have Barrett's don't know they have it until they receive an endoscopy. As far as your H.H. I also have a small one and was told not to worry and that it should go away on it's own. I believe you need to see a GI about your H.H. if it is causing you that much discomfort. I hope you can manage to get rid of your pain. I am not sure of any treatment for it. If I can ask, how long were you taking Zantac? I've been taking PPI's for years and have bloodwork done every 6 mos. to check my liver and just this last time was told for the first time my enzymes were a bit high. I also take many other meds for other conditions. Please keep us posted on your condition.

Low acid all,

Re: Barron symptoms

Since July after trying ppi again, ppi just doesn't work good for my digestion creates more acid. Second time on acid reducers first time was 6 months approx too and was sent to liver specialist. This is my second time going back has to do with enzymes too I forgot. Seems like coincidence bc my liver usually passes only during ppi n h2 treatment where there's pain and lost of weight.

The increased hernia due to coughing make acid leak easier to the sides causing side cramps and makes me sleep higher so I think it be good to get it pulled down even if its minor. Now finding someone to do it and trying avoid coughing episodes will be a problem

Re: Barron symptoms

Hi there, Yes my Doc told me it was small and probably would go away on it's own. I have my bed raised 6 inches and I sleep with 2 pillows as well, or more. I am on 3 different PPI's, Nexium 1/X, Prevacid 2/X and Domperidone 3/X. I have been on Nexium for at least 5 years. I have my next endiscope in January. I will let you know what is said about my hernia. I am also very curious about my next liver count due to Domperidone is a very new drug for me andnot FDA approved in the US. I have never heard of a palatial hernia, curious about that as well. I will research that. Thanks for getting back to me.

Low acid all,

Re: Barron symptoms

I've used domperidone few years ago with zantanc. I think it was 6 tiny pills a day. I found it useless maybe bc I didn't have a vomiting problem back think. They suppose help keep things down. So I just stopped taking it n slowly stomach acid levels started to settle.

Re: Barron symptoms

My biggest problem besides the Barrett's is asperating (sp) while sleeping. I have Fibromyalgia and take 4 meds for that before I go to bed that all would make a normal person drousy, not to say I am not normal but I am so used to them it is my norm. One I take specifically to keep me sleeping deeply. There are times I may slip off my pillows and find myself waking very abruptely with a cough due to asperating the reflux into my lungs. I then get a fever which I guess is my body fighting what just was breathed in. It is very scary because when I tell my doc about it he does not think that is the case. My lungs are in great shape considering. I used to call it a bad Fibro Flare then put 2 & 2together. Sorry for the long post. It's hard to explain. I also have osteoarthritis but can't take antiinflamation meds because of the Barrett's. It's an evil circle....lol! But I own it :0)
