I had the Nissen Fundoplication in 2008. I have no problems swallowing large pills.
I will say that I knew I wouldn't be able to have any solids directly after my surgery. I spoke to my pharmacist about what I could do about the medications I was on. At the time, I was taking 8 pills plus some inhalers. My pharmacist was able to compound ALL of my current pills so that I could take them in liquid form while I was healing. If you have a good compounding pharmacy near you, I'd recommend looking into that option prior to surgery if you choose to go that way.
