sore throat help

Any suggestions of what helps a raw-feeling throaty from reflux episodes?

Re: sore throat help

My chronic sore throat often subsided when I just recovered from a cold/flu? Is it a coincidence?

Re: sore throat help

I assume that you are already on a H2RB or PPI medication. I agree with sweet potato that sleeping with your head elevated helps. You can do this by sleeping on a wedge pillow or just simply elevating the headboard side of the bed a few inches. You can also try a foam barrier anti-acid at night to keep the acid from coming up. Some people have had luck chewing Orbit White gum during the day since it contains sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Always make sure that your last meal is eaten three to four hours before going to bed so your stomach is empty and not producing acid when you go to sleep.
