Which foods are most likely to cause acid reflux?

I have LPR and have silent reflux. I can not tell when I have reflux.

I am going to be taking a pepsin test, so I want to eat the foods that will most likely cause reflux.

I did a Google search and found various foods that cause reflux.

One list I saw showed "fried foods" and "processed baked goods as #1, and #2.

I was thinking a hamburger with fries for lunch.

Then later on chocolate cake.

What is everyone's experiences?

Re: Which foods are most likely to cause acid reflux?

Everyone is different. My trigger foods are caffeine, acidic and carbonated beverages, citrus, tomatoes, greasy foods, and spicy foods. Are you taking anything for this? I currently take Prevacid 15mg once daily and this keeps it at bay usually. Also my throat would really bother me (I never got the traditional heartburn symptoms like the burning chest; mine was a cool burning sensation at the bottom of my throat the would leave it really red and raw) so Slippery Elm, hot Chamomile Tea would help soothe this. Hope this helps.

Re: Which foods are most likely to cause acid reflux?

As the previous member said, everyone is different. I can tollerate Chocolate which many people cannot.
Wine, Spicy or Hot food (as in curry) are a definite NO NO for me . I can eat Chips but potatoe-crisps cause bloating and reflux. Why not try the foods you mention early on before the test is due and then if it does not cause reflux you can try something else.
Good Luck,
