There's no doubt that lifestyle is partly to blame for acid reflux. Can you get any help to quit your nicotine addiction? Can you get help with your diet and needed weight loss?
I've had to cut out alcohol, coffee, fried food, chocolate, and all dairy. I've lost weight and try and take more exercise. I have the head of my bed propped up and I never eat much in the evening. The changes have been difficult. It's not easy for any of us, but if you want to feel better you have to try. I know that smoking is really bad for acid reflux. Good luck with everything.
