| Link between GERD and candida?
Hi, i am wondering if anyone has had similar experience. I was diagnosed with a yeast infection following a colonscopy about 3 yrs ago. This was never treated as i had an allergic reaction to the medication. my symptoms are usually a recurring and embarrassing anal itch. Since august i have been diagnosed with GERD. I am now on nexium and while it has treated some of the symptoms i have now headaches, stomach pains, extreme tiredness and sore throat, as well as getting chilled to the bone and no way of warming up when this happens. I also suffer from constipation for the last 3 yrs despite drinking a lot of warter 9about 4.5 litres a day) and eating very healthy all raw veg and fruits. These symptoms come and go suddendly. My doc has refered for xrays and patch testing as well as a scope.i am waiting for the scope all others came back fine. i want him to test me for helicobacter bacteria and yeast infection but he refuses point blank. He insists that any GERD problems (ie. digestion) has nothing to do with problems further below. Can anyone explain why do doctors always insist on this? I have found the medical profession very unhelpful to say the least and all they seem to talk about is more medication and surgery . this is even prior to having the scope done.
Has anyone encountered similar problems? has anyone been diagnosed with GERD and Yeast/candida infection and has GERD cleared when candida was cleared? any input welcome .
