Re: Stabbing pain?

I have a constant pain under my sternum just to the left of midline for 7 yrs now.
I woke up morning and was hurting and it has never went away.
I have had every test under the sun performed multiple times, egd's, Flouroscopy UGI and Barium swallowing studies, esophageal manometry, as well as 5 ER visits because I couldnt handle the pain and passed out. I lost about 50 pounds but found a way to put it back on, dag gum it.

The diagnosis, Nutcracker Esophagus, the cure, there is not one, the treatment helps minimal at best. What causes it, they dont really know they just say it isnt life threatning. Maybe the illness isnt but the pain will be at some point.

Ive been on every PPI out there, Home remedy Apple cider vinigers, aloa verea, Viagra, cialis, xanex and all its cousins, multiple anti-depresents. All the dope did was make me sleepy. Carafats, GI coctails, Hyoscamine, Nitro under tongue, Nitro Patches and many more I cant remember names for. I Quit caffeine and drink only warm temp beverages, eat bland foods I really dont know why because it doesnt really help either.

I have conceeded to the fact that my quality of life will continue to be more of the same painful days.
It has affected not only me but my family also. IT SUX!

But I continue to struggle through every day with most of the time unbearable pain because I have a family to support.

I know this isnt the info you were looking for but it seems that if this is what you have your life will never be the same.

Re: Stabbing pain?

Is it a stabbing pain? Affected by any foods or alcohol? I'm pretty sure mine is my pancreas at this point

Re: Stabbing pain?

Stabbing pain yes but mine is constant pain for the last 7 yrs since that one morning I woke up with the pain.Somedays better than others but more intense than not. Although, there was one day driving to work that I belched with such force I thought i was going to pass-out, I was pain free for about 10 hrs. Other than this issue I am healthy, all labwork, cardiac workups including heartcath and ekg are normal.

Re: Stabbing pain?

If it is your pancreas and your lab values are hight it can be diagnosed with CT of the Abdomen. Pancreatitis is a awful thing to have to endure, get checked.
