This will sound absurdly simple and inexpensive, but its working great for me.
(Been a year and three months) I stopped using all the creams, chemicals, etc; they only made my skin flare. We all know oil buildup is a major factor of acne and what better way to combat it then to dry it out and away. I use a small drinking glass, fill it with water, and gently pour it over my face into a sink. (Its better than washing with hands because they just add oil!) The key part is to resist the urge to dry your face right away. Let the skin dry out, reducing oil. I like to do it in the morning and right before I go to bed. Note: I live in the northern US where it is very dry in the winter, so your location may effect this.
I really have struggled with acne throughout my life. Big time. And while obviously this might not work for everyone, I decided to post it for the people it could help.

A caveat: no touching of the face, or popping. Absolutely none.
