Depending on the percent of hydroquinone, it can helps to fade red marks and other forms of hyperpigmentation.

I used a fade cream on my face, prescribed by MD. Not much improvement. Had peels on face, worked better. Peels are expensive, I do them them myself (as a maintenance program) now, using alpha hydroxy peels that I order from different sellers on EBay. Much cheaper, just start out with the lower strength and work up to 50% or 70%. These are very strong so use caution. Also, if you tend to get fever blisters on your lips, get something from your doctor first. My Derm said that the blisters can spread if you get one while your face is in that burnt/red stage just afer the peels are done.
I decided to try them on my sun damaged (red) neck. I don't have to paste on the concealer before I put on a v-neck top any longer. I am really satisfied.
