Unhappy What to do about my acne?

Hi, I am 24 years old and got terrible acne for the first time last year. I have already developed scars and nothing I have tried is working. My dermatologist told me to use this that and this... I even got on birth control, but it made it worse. What should I do now?

We're all searching for the cure... thats why we joined this board to find new ideas to treat our acne. Lots of people will recommend different things... my advice to to try more natural solutions instead of resorting to drugs. E.g Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, drink Aloe Vera Juice etc.

I wish you the best of luck!

I have recently begun using the Carley's clear and smooth acne wash. I have tried everything out there including prescription meds and OTC topicals and pills. Nothing worked until this wash. I have been using it for less that a week and my old scars are fast fading and i've not gotten a new blemish since. Now I know that it takes at least two months to determine if something has long term staying power...but i've been more impressed with this product than any i've tried the last 6 years of breakouts! My face was pretty bad off last week and now I don't even need a concealor. I use their wash and their natural soap and those two products (including shipping) cost $28. And this is for a 3-5 month supply!!! And you can't beat their return policy because there is no time limit on when you can return for a refund. I'd say give it a try!!!

Firstly, it is important to drink lots of water. dont scrub at it in the shower, and when u wash ur face, use cool water. hot water tends to upset acne(i know from personal exp.) I know people with moderate acne that have used tea tree oil with good results. get 100% solution. u can find good brands at health food stores.
I dont know how often to put it on every day, but i would imagine 2-3 times a day. too much fried, or greasy, fatty foods can also contribute to acne. Getting enough vitamins is good for your skin, especially vitiman a and e. if tea tree oil seems to help, u can buy soap with it in it that u can use to wash the acne. the oil helps by killing the bacteria that cause acne, as well as penatrating and cleaning out the pores. Just remember, for somthing really bad like youus, you have to hekp prevent it from the inside as well as the outside by eating less fried, greasy foods, geeting enough vitamins for the skin, and drinking enough PURE water, not coffee or coke
