Question Jojoba Oil Users Please Read

I'm interested and a bit anxious to start this jojoba oil routine. However, I want to ask a few questions I have concerning it.

1. How often do you use it?
2. How much would you say you use exactly?
3. Do you apply acne products(BP, Salycilic acid, etc) after the oil?
4. Did you suffer an intial breakout and how bad?
5. How long have you been using it?

My reasons for being a bit cautious even in the face of all the positive info I've gotten is that Jojoba oil contains myristic acid. I know of 2 websites that offer info on the comedogenicity of certain ingredients and both listed myristic acid as somewhere in the grey area ( can be pore clogging, but not rated as definitely horrible either ). Was wondering what users have to say so far. Thanks for any info you can give.

1. How often do you use it?
I use it every morning and every night

2. How much would you say you use exactly?
3 drops each time

3. Do you apply acne products(BP, Salycilic acid, etc) after the oil?
I use the queen helene mint julep mask as an
overnight spot treatment for the problem areas

4. Did you suffer an intial breakout and how bad?
Yes I did. I thought it was pretty bad. It went away after about a week. Everyone I know that uses it has gotten it too. Its suppose to bring all the existing blemishes to the surface

5. How long have you been using it?
about 2 or 3 weeks

I appreciate your response Spangled. If you don't mind, I'd like to keep in touch with you as far as how this seems to be going for both of us. If that is alright with you that is.

Hey Neurotic..not a problem at all. I hope we have the results we are looking for with this stuff. I know it definitely has helped me with my dryness, my skin was kinda flaky. What kind of acne would you say you have? Right now mine is mild but i have a lot of red marks that Im hoping will go away with this jojoba and vitamin e mix. Good luck!

At this stage in life I would say my acne is mild with the occasional marble like zit every few months. I think it has to do with my oily skin. I wash my face and about an hour later it looks like I just came out of a pool It's annoying and I need to find something to calm down the oil. Any suggestions? Thanks for replying and good luck to you too.

SpangledWinter,
it's my guess that you broke out because of the Vitamin E you're mixing with the Jojoba Oil. I've always broken out when I've put Vit E on my skin, but never had any problems with pure Jojoba Oil.
I would suggest that anyone trying Jojoba Oil for the first time should use pure oil (such as Desert Essence) without mixing anything else into it.

1. How often do you use it?
Every night, sometimes in the morning as well if I have enough time to wait before putting on concealer

2. How much would you say you use exactly?
A few drops

3. Do you apply acne products(BP, Salycilic acid, etc) after the oil?
CP Serum

4. Did you suffer an intial breakout and how bad?
I had some tiny whiteheads come to the surface when I started... I also started using the CP Serum at the same time, so unfortunately I'm not sure which one caused this. But I stuck with both of them because they were also helping, and now I have no problems

5. How long have you been using it?
3-4 weeks

Thanks for the replies ladies and gents. I appreciate the distinction on the Vitamin E and Jojoba oil possibilities for breakouts. I'll post how well it's going for me for those interested.
