Question my acne treatment

I use clean & clear, face wash and the benozyl peroxide cream, also the astrigent
my acne comes and goes.. but its always there.. i'm 18
now whats all this talk about moisturizing?? does it help my acne go away??

the key ingredients in the clean and clear are the salyilic acid and the benozyl peroxide. Should I lay-off my gillete aftershave gel? any specific shaving cream I should use?

another thing is I have zinc pills I take once a day sometimes (not everyday) I heard they help..

Re: my acne treatment

Zinc has been shown to be as effective as tetracycline in the treatment of acne. Low serum zinc and retinol-binding protein have been demonstrated in acne patients. Other vitamins have been shown to be effective, such as Vitamin A and Vitamin E.

What do you think is causing the mineral and nutrient deficiencies in people with acne so that supplementation is necessary for improvement of acne symptoms? Genes? I do not think so. For a nutritional supplement protocol refer to my post "Acne is caused by diet."

You will be clear.

Re: my acne treatment

even skin that produces an excess amount of oil can be "dehydrated" so moisturizing may help to stave off the skin's reaction (creating more oil)? but you really need to be careful in choosing your moisturizing products. stay clear away from those that contain oil and harsh chems. and just apply to those areas that really need it.
