Question Jojoba Oil?

I've heard a lot about the positive effects people have had with using Jojoba oil. I purchased a bottle of it (Desert Essence) and was wondering how those of you who use it go about using it exactly? Where do you apply? How much? How often? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I've been using Jojoba oil for quite sometime now its pretty simple. Straight after you've washed your face and applied any treatments you just pour alittle on your finger tips and rub into ur face, in a circular motion if you like (you shouldn't need alot) twice a day is more than enough!!

Thank you for the reply. What, exactly, is it good for? What does it do?

I dont use it but its supposed to help your face look less oily and moisturize flakiness. (My face is fine in terms of this)

Good luck!

I always put it on right after I wash, then wait 10 minutes so that it absorbs and put on whatever acne treatments. It has very small molecules that will go into your pores and it will pull acne treatments with it, which is why I put it on first. I know I always say this, but if you look on the Skin board, Marti has posted a lot on jojoba and she is an expert, and can answer your questions better than I can. Good luck.

Hey NeuroticOne, you can do a search on this board by typing in Marti (by user) or by just doing a general search on jojoba. Shes real big on mixing jojoba with vitamin e. Im trying out her suggesting, been using the 2 combined for about the last 2 weeks. I cant tell if its helping my scars yet though cause its too soon. I will let you know that the jojoba oil brought all the bumbs to the surface within the first 7 days of using it. It freaked me out til I asked and Marti said it was normal, lol. Hopefully that wont be the case for you. So far Im really liking it. I dont even use a moisturizer anymore!

Cool

Thanks Spangled. I will go ahead and try it out. Was wondering if it is a good idea to apply BP (2.5%) 10 mins after the oil or is it better to use the oil alone?

Marti posts a ton of stuff on the "Skin, Hair, and Nails" board. If you have a question - just put her name in the Subject and she will reply to you. She is very helpful and knows her stuff. Good luck.

Use the Joboba Oil (4-5 drops) after washing your face. Make sure your face is completely dry of water. The combination of water and jojoba could clog pores. So i wait a couple minutes after i wash my face. After you apply your Jojoba Oil wait 10 Minutes, and then apply any topical medication you may be using..

Good luck!

John

John, why is it that the water-jojoba oil combination can clog pores? I always let my face dry before putting it on, but I never particularly watched out for this. I'd never heard about this problem before, so I'm curious... maybe that contributed to my initial breakout. Thanks!
