Tazorac Users!

I started it a few weeks ago. My skin seems rough and has lots of blackheads (more than before). I read in many posts that the Tazorac exfoliates and brings stuff in your pores to the surface.

Did anyone else breakout more AFTER using Tazorac? And how long until you were better? I don't know if I just need to stick with it, or I'm my skin is reacting negatively to it.

Thanks!

stick with it! most people get a little worse before getting better on it. i'm on my sixth week and have only gotten 1 pimple in the last 2 weeks. seems to help fade red marks as well. it's the ONLY thing that has gotten me clear.

Leverage, i was wondering if Tazorac is making your skin flaky? I used it for the past 4 months before switching to B5 and i agree that it does help with acne, but it made my face so freakin dry and crackly.

Re: Tazorac Users!

Thanks for replying, all. I got a lot of samples, so I haven't filled the prescription yet. I was using a good amount, and twice a day! Then I read the script and realize it's a little, once a day. Now that I've cut back, I'm improving. I'm not dry, just not as oily! Yeah!

Re: Tazorac Users!

For flaking try using Alph Hydroxy in the mornings. This REALLY helps Alpha Hydroxy disolves dead skin. I just started the tazorac, and so far so good. I am only using the .05% samples for now. No redness or flakiness yet I odered some BHA from Paula's choice which I am going to try too in the mornings. I have been putting a moisturizer over the Tazorac after leaving it on alone for an hour or so. I have mild acne. I was on Acutane years back and am seeing some return, so my derm prescribed this with some anibiotics (which I am only going to take for a month to start me out).
