Post Blood Test while on Accutane...question...
HOw often are you suppose to have your blood tested while you are on Accutane?

I started taking the meds in November 2002. As of today, I have had only TWO (2) blood test....

In fact, for both of those blood test, I have to remind my doc! What kind of doc is he??!! I'm just furious! This is some serious medication we are talking about and with this kind of inattentiveness, its unacceptable...

Unfortunately I had the same problem with one of my derms. Apparently you are supposed to have a blood test done when starting minocycline but I wasn't aware of this until I switched derms....he said not to worry about subsequent tests though UNLESS you start having side effects.

Getting blood tests are hell for me though. The woman at the hospital said they will have to sedate me the next time I need one. I go from almost passing out to almost throwing up every 10 seconds and that all lasts for about 10 minutes, then I have to sit in the chair and regain composure for another 20.

I am starting Accutane today, and my doc made me go for a blood test right away tommorow, and every month after.
