Re: Question about BP
Hey John, the exact same thing happened to me. The BP was great for the first few weeks, COMPLETELY cleared me up and I could eat anything/do anything and there was no chance my perfect complexion would be affect. But at the end of these first few weeks, my acne started to come back and I was back to stage one.
Basically the argument regarding acne is this: P. Acnes, the bacteria in acne lesions, can not survive in the presence of oxygen. BP creates oxygen. Therefore, it is physically impossible for this bacteria to develop a resistance.
Well this may be all theoretically true however it just does not explain BP's reduction in effectiveness the longer it is used. I believe the skin CAN get used to BP causing this type of treatment to be quite unreliable. Sometimes you wake up and BP has done a good job not GREAT but good. Other times you look at yourself in the mirror and all you can see is pinkness/redness left by BP with the spots still there. Sometimes BP works sometimes it doesn't! But IMO don't count on it clearing you up completely if you have mild-moderate or greater acne.
