I've been taking Chasteberry extract (sold as Vitex agnus tablets) for 3 weeks now and the results are great so far. I read a post about it a while ago on here but it took me a few weeks to find it in shops. At first I was taking a Chasteberry/Black Cohosh combination (because that's all I could find). That was going great but then I read that Black Cohosh can spread cancer.. so I found a pure Chasteberry extract and am now taking that instead.
I've had hormonal acne for 10+ years now. The only thing that decreases my oily skin is the contraceptive pill.. but I'm allergic to that.
Chasteberry helps to regulate eostrogen and progesterone (so I'd say this is only gonna work for the ladies). I take it at night and when I wake up my skin is dry (normally it's really oily).
Anyone else given this a go?

I just started taking it as part of a cleanse this week. I also bought a seperate supplement of it for after the cleanse is over. So far, my face is a little better, but not ideal. I have gotten a few new spots this week, so maybe it's still working through my system.
I bought in a health food store alongside the vitamins.
It doesn't help clear up old pimples but decreases sebum production. As long as my skin isn't oily I don't get any pimples so it's working really well. I also try to stick to a sugar-free diet and have been for some time. This has helped a lot but never got rid of the oilyness
May I ask what brand you are using? I'm using Natures Way and I don't know if it's doing a good job. Did the vitex decrease the oil?
