Toothpaste!???

I've read that putting toothpaste on ur skin can help dry up spots and help get rid of acne. I've seen this in two places. Is this true, I'm willing to try anything but I dont want to make it worse!??

BTW - Does a diet have a huge effect on acne? For example, is it best to cut down on fatty foods, etc?

Thanks

Re: Toothpaste!???

I've tried this before, in the past. I dabbed some toothpaste on a few big pimples before I went to bed (and put a towel on my pillow at night... unless you want some toothpaste on your pillowcase).
A) If you put too much on, it will burn. So if you DO try it, don't put it on just any skin. Only put it on the pimple area.
B) It did dry out the area within a day or two... however the result was a peeling and dry mess. I was worried about scarring so I didn't try this again.

Re: Toothpaste!???

Ooh. Thanks for the reply. Think I might steer clear of it then. At least until I get a little more desperate!

Re: Toothpaste!???

i think the flouride in it is what helps spots basicly, i don't think it's effective, and is bought for domestic usages of cleaning your teeth, not your skin, and shouldn't be used otherwise.
