Smile Potatoes Fade Acne Marks

I read on another message board that if you rub a potato on your red acne marks that it will help fade them. I put the potato on my face and appled my usual acne treatments on top of it. It really helps fade them. I've done this for 2 days, and the marks have diminished at least 25%. They are smaller and less red.

I actually heard this before but wasn't sure. Do you slice it first and then apply the wet part to your skin or how does it work? ..that's interesting, thanks for posting that.

Yes, you slice it and apply the moist edge to your skin. It's probably good for flareups too because it seems to be drying but not horribly so.

I am just wondering if it matters what kind of potato you have to use?? I'm guessing any old potato should do...just have to slice it up and place it on your face?

Re: Potatoes Fade Acne Marks

A friend of mines once told me that he used to watch an old man drink beer after beer after beer and hardly get drunk. He says that the old man used to eat a potato along with the alcohol and that would help him not to get drunk so fast. He said that the potato would absorb the toxicity of the alcohol.

He also told me that if you sliced a potato and put it on a black eye the potato would absorb the blackness of the eye.

He told me this along time ago and I don't know why I never tried it because I had acne scars I wanted to get rid of. Well, I found this thread and I decided to try it.

I sliced a potato and poked some holes with the knife and placed it on my temple where I have scars and an existing pimple. 30 minutes later I took it off and looked at the potato. I saw visible discolorations on the potato that were not there when I sliced it. I couldn't tell a difference on my skin by looking but I could definitely feel its drying out effect.

P.S. I had my usual acne regimen on my face when I did this.

I will keep updating if I see improvement.

Re: Potatoes Fade Acne Marks

Do you just hold the potato there or tape it? And what kind of potato do you use. I never heard of this before.

Re: Potatoes Fade Acne Marks

I tried this method a couple of hours ago, using 3 pieces over areas where I have red marks and scars, leaving them there for around half hour each. I noticed no immediate effects on the skin, and there were small indentations of my skin pattern on the newly cut side of the potatoe.

I presume you have to give this method more time and effort, so I will carry on doing this over the next week or so to see if ithas any impact.
Thanks for posting this

Re: Potatoes Fade Acne Marks

I was wondeirng about the lemon juice, anyone tried that one? Which one works better because i'm thinking you could get more juice out of a lemon compared to a potatoe.

Re: Potatoes Fade Acne Marks

I've tried the potatoe thing for about a week and i thought it wasn't working even though my skin seemed clearer so i stopped. Big mistake. lol. A day later i was broken out pretty bad and my friends kept pointing it out so it was embarrassing. I started using it again the next day and two days later my skin is lookin good again .

About the lemon juice though. Once my friend got it on her face from eating one and her skin was definately lighter but you gotta make sure you get everything i think cause then it might be noticeable. i'm not 1oo% sure on that but its just from some-what experience
