I went for my first photofacial last week...wondering if anyone else has had it done?? It takes away all the discolourations and redness from your skin!
I am seeing a difference already and I have 2 more treatments to go!

hey,
i've been thinking of getting IPL treatments but worry that my face will look horribly red and/or blistered afterwards. what did you look like immediately following treatment?
I've had 3 photofacials done, and honestly I've seen little difference in my red marks. It lightened my freckles on my nose, but I didn't care to see those gone anyways!
Immediately following, my face is a little rosy but definitely not blistered. I've gone directly to the mall, and work, after applying a little makeup and it was fine. It doesn't burn you or anything... just tiny zaps on various parts of your face. Chemical peels are FAR more painful and disfiguring than photofacials are, so if you've ever had a chemical peel... don't even worry about it.
I've had a couple of IPL treatments that definitely improved the texture and color of my skin. However, if you have any rolling or ice pick scars, this probably won't do much for you. My discolorations were significantly lessened.
For the misinformed, the IPL is not designed to remove "red marks" caused by acne. It decreases redness on the face cuased by broken blood capilaries. Chemical peels will work better for red marks caused by acne. It is also recommended to buy of 5, you get better results. Side affects normally go away within a few hours, but in some cases it will last for a couple of days.
