I've posted this issue before with no sucess and thought to give it a try again. I'm using Retin-A Micro and I'm clear now but I've noticed that I'm very pale. I would rather pale skin than breaking out but I'm wondering if there is a way or a product that would work to tint the skin like a sunless tanner. Anyone have sucess? The thing I see is that your skin is peeling every day during retinoid therapy and I don't think the sunless tanner would stay on for long or if it would even work. Anybody know anything about this?
You're right about the tanner not staying very long. If you skin peels a lot, then it will peel away the tan faster. As for a sunless tanner, I havenít used many but what Iíve found is that if you are going to use one, make sure its a good brand and its the best one they've got. A sunless tanner is not something you want to look for the cheapest one.
I love Lancome self-tanner. It lasts about a week. It is on the expensive side, so I ask for it for Christmas and my birthday
My derm also gave me the tinted sodium sulfacetamide, but I had a hard time putting in just enough tint to make it look natural. The color comes in a little tube and you add it yourself. Its a good idea though. Maybe you'd have better luck than I did
Also, I don't know if I want to add anymore medicated stuff on my face. So far I'm doing great with what I am using now. Maybe I should resort to makeup to add a little colour! LOL If a self tanner would work for me that would be perfect. Guess there's nobody in the same situation. Thanks for the help though!
So, Lancome Self Tanner huh. Isn't that made by Loreal? Sounds good enough to me and I'll try that out if I can find it. Is it in normal drug stores? Thanks for you're help.. Very valuable. I'm thinking of applying it only to my face and neck and hopefully this will work. I'll be more than extatic! The only concern I have now is if I apply this to my face and neck only certain areas of my face are treated and exfoliated with Retin-A so i'm kinda scared I'll have darker areas. Especially my neck which isn't treated. Ah well. I'll give it a try and see what happens.
They sell it at department stores. Actually now that you mention it, I used to be on regular Retin-A, which I had peeling with, and tried Estee Lauder self-tanner. BIG MISTAKE. It peeled off very unevenly. So if you're peeling it might not be worth trying it...
