I use glycolic acid cream and I also use salicylic acid daily and they have helped my red marks. I use it on my whole face, and yes you can use it over existing acne. What I do is put the salicylic acid on my damp face, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then wash it off in the shower real quick. Then I apply the glycolic acid, leave it on for 10 minutes and they just take a regular shower. By using the two acids, it really cleans your face and helps exfoliate your skin, which helps the red marks. Then I just put on a moisturizer at night.
