Hi, I don't even feel like going out and being seen anymore, thanks to persistant acne and scars! My derm put me on doxycycline 100 mg 1 time a day with benzaclin. it seems like my face is worse! it's been nearly 3 weeks, no results. Can anyone tell me their experience with these medications and how long I should give it. im really contemplating accutane if this stuff doesnt work soon.

i was on doxycycline 100 mg 2 times a day with benzaclin in the morning and differin at night, i got worse. im now on accutane. dont be scared of it , just go on it, ive only been on it 2 days so i dont know how its going to work out but whatever.
I've been on Doxy & Benzaclin for over a year and a 1/2 now and my face looks 95% better than it did before I started. I'm EXTREMELY happy with the results. The ONLY thing that I'm still not happy about is the scarring, which I just can't seem to get rid of (any suggestions?). I take 100 mg of Doxy a day and only use the Benzaclin (it really does help with the redness) at night. As with any medication, you have to give it some time. Try giving it a few months and see what happens; whatever happens, it's NOT going to happen overnight.
