okay, so I am trying to figure out what kind of acne this is, and the best way to treat it. It is not the red kind, the painful kind, the blackhead kind, the white-head kind, not a cyst. It is flesh colored bump-(this is gross, sorry) but when you squeeze them, you get the same white crap. Sometimes it is hard, other times it kinda squirts, it can be clear. It is like a white head kind not formed yet. I get them all over the place. Of course, no one else can see them, but I can and I feel them and I can't handle it. I don't really break out that often, infact, if I had to say I had acne, this is the kind I have. I was getting cysts for two years, but I am on a cream and don't have them anymore. Every now and then I get the painful kind or a white head. I have blackheads on my nose, chin, upper lip-but they aren't big.
I am getting angry and irritated that I can't get rid of these!!!
I cleanse with Neutrogena, use a black head eliminating toner/astringent, sometimes the oil control astringent (not both at same time), and that cream sometimes once a day or twice. I wear a light foundation and a matte powder. I don't re-apply the powder during the day. I have very oily skin-I don't use moisturizer. I use oil blotting tissues. I even wonder if there is a skincare product out there for this-even a script. Any thoughts would be great, and sorry for the gross explanation above.
I know what your saying and those are really annoying. What they are, are whiteheads that haven’t come to the surface yet. They will eventually come to the surface, and you shouldn’t really force them because that just irritates your skin. As for how to treat them, the only thing that I've found effective is to use acids to exfoliate your skin, and Accutane.
I get that kind of acne i think.. when i stretch the skin I can see little white bumps under the skin and I can squeeze them out.. sometimes they turn into an inflamed pimple..other times they don't but I can't get rid of them .. they are all over pretty much
OMG, I have this kind of acne! No one can see the bumps unless I'm under overhead lighting, which I try to stay away from anyway. I started getting them from using emu oil on my face. Then from then on I'd get them on and off. Right now it's the worst they've ever been. I've started taking all kinds of supplements and drinking green tea and not eating/drinking dairy and nothing works. The only thing that has done anything is the Zinc. It's turning some of them into whiteheads faster. But now I'm waiting for the whiteheads to erupt and go away....
I use jojoba oil on my face, which from reading on here is like the greatest moisturizer, but not for me. It clogs my pores and I get more of these annoying bumps. They're all over my forehead and basically everywhere else.
Does anyone know how to get right of these things? I've tried:
salycylic acid (worked first time)
benzoyl peroxide (dried them up very first time, but after that nothing)
pro-activ toner and cleanser w/beads (worked the very first time I used it, worked great, then just didn't work after that)
aloe vera gel (gave me more bumps)
not using soap, but eucerin cleanser instead
cutting out dairy
queen helene mint julip mask w/sulfur
How come all this stuff worked the very first time then after that didn't work at all??
My facialist told me a little nugget of truth I never knew before. Your skin, like the rest to your body, gets used to topicals and creams, after a while and prepares for them. Have you ever wondered why the equipment in your gym gets moved around every few months? It's because your body knows what is comming after a time and the execise looses it's effectiveness. Move the equipment and people chance their routine. The body is reintroduced to the equipment is a different way. They become effective again. Change your facial products for one week if what you are currently using has lost it's effectiveness. Then go back to what you were using. It should work again.
I use the following lotion for the cysts, given to me by my dr:
Sodium Sulfacetamide 5%, Sulfa 10%. I don't even have to use it every day anymore b/c I haven't had one cyst since a month after I started it about a year ago. My stress levels changed though, and it could of been caused by hormonal changes too. What ever the cause, the lotion works, and usually keeps most acne at bay.
I use the apricot scrub almost daily, and it doesn't irritate my skin. In fact, the only time I can irritate my skin is if I try to wax my eyebrows, or if I get into a patch of Poision Oak. Other than that, my skin is pretty resilient. Thanks for the tips!
