Are there any derm-reccomended creams/gels that are gentle on the face?

Tazorac, Differin, Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, whatever else you give me--It tears the crap out of my face. I must have incredibly sensitive skin because within the first three days my face is a bright red and my skin rips off in sheets. I'm not even joking--the stuff just rips apart my skin.

So, is there ANYTHING that a dermatologist would reccomend to get rid of acne--any creams or gels--that won't beat up my skin?

My doc gave me differin gel and I was like, GREAT here we go again. But in the instructions, he said to use it as a spot treatment only. I am not sure how severe your acne is but this works for me. Especially when i get the cluster zits. They clear up in as little as 2-3 days. Try it.

I've had good luck with Differin cream.
But Klaron lotion is even gentler.

I thought that is what Retin-A, Retin-A Micro is suppose to do. At least all of my friends that have used it have had the same results. I haven't seen it react any other way on people. When they questioned the Dr. the answer was it will get better after you stop peeling. He compared it to a chemical peel. Said you will be removing all the old skin over a longer period of time but after all that skin was gone new skin would rebuild and love it.
Took an aweful long time for them but it did produced amazing results. One of my friends had medium pits in her face. After about 6 months of the Retin-A they were almost gone. Now she did not look to pretty while using it. Her skin looked like torn wet paper bag peices that were stuck on her face. She looks great now.

Have you tired Kinerase? Kinerase is extremely gentle. In fact, physicians recommend it for people with dry and sensitive skin, those with conditions such as rosacea, eczema and dermatitis. I have not had cosmetic procedures but they say because of its gentle nature, Kinerase is also ideal for those who have undergone a cosmetic procedure such as laser resurfacing or microdermabrasion. *shrug*

I use klaron with my differin gel every nite..you will get worse before getting better with differin or retina peeling is part of the process...u must stick it out..its a temp reaction to the med..I've been on it 2 and half week..just starting the intail breakout..but i've been told it will improve so i'm sticking ot it..
