Hi everyone,
I have a glycolic appt and wanted to know if it causes any post breakouts or excessive peeling? Thanks a lot. If it causes breakouts I don't know if I want to take a chance.

Glycolic peels are considered light peels, so you'll experience minimal peeling. If you still have active acne, then there's a higher probability that you'll breakout with little whiteheads.

I thought you weren't suppose to go through these procedures until your acne is gone?

XenaWP are you getting the glycolic peel for acne scars or redmarks?
Or are you using this for acne.
The peels are really for scars, redmarks, blotchy skin etc.

Depending on how sensitive your skin is, you might not peel at all or just a little. If you have active pimples, it will actually help them and get rid of them fast. But you might break out a little from the peel. As for how much, it depends on the person.

It also depends on the percentage of the peel and how long it's left on the skin The higher the percentage or the longer the product is left on the skin, the more likely you are to peel or have a bad reaction.

I have active acne right now. Moderate acne, a lot of clogged pores and acne marks and like a few new pimples every couple of days that I thought maybe the peel will help with.
The ad said "acne treatment with glycolic acid peel, special $75. For oily and blemished skin with excessive blackheads/whiteheads, acne scars and discolorations."
But if its only good for old acne scars and discolorations and it won't help with the current situation I think I will just cancel the appt.
So what should I do? Any help and suggestions will really help me a lot. should I just use a glycolic lotion nightly, or stick with salicylic acid or go get the peel?
