Olay Daily Facials Intensives Clear Skin Lathering Cloths?

Anyone used these and had success? I am just looking for a gentle product to go along with my topicals/pills. In the past, I have used the regular Daily Facials for Oily/Combo skin and liked the exfoliating texture of the cloths.

Some of the Clear Skin Lathering Cloth ingredients include Beta Hydroxy/Salicylic Acid, Witch Hazel Extract, and ProVitamin B5--which are all supposed to be good for your skin. I just don't know if there is enough of each to make a difference. I guess I am willing to be a guinea pig...I'll fill you all in on the results--if any!

These cleansing cloths contain the same pore clogging ingrident as a bar of soap, I always recommend- based on the reading I have done in books like Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter With Out Me- cetaphil liquid cleanser and Alba Oganics pineapple enzyme facial wash, for exfoliating just use baking soda and a little water to make a paste and use accordingly. Almost none of the major brands have products in their line that are right for truly sensitive skin.

Thanks for your opinion. I have used Cetaphil before and my skin always feels soft, but it doesn't feel clean...like my makeup is still on or something. That's why I bought the cloths...just to give them a try (I have tried so many things)! Do you think I could use the cloths to get my makeup off, and then wash off with Cetaphil afterwards to get the softening benefits?

I also feel that Cetaphil does not get the makeup off......thats the liquid anyway. The derm told me to use the cetaphil soap bar and that lathers nice! However, how much is the Alba wash and where do you buy it? Just regular baking soda and water on your face???? Hmmm?/?

Oh my god, dont use them. I dont know if you have tried them already but they are SO harsh they burn like crazy the first time you wash your face, and my skin can handle alot. Also, they taste DISGUSTING so if you do use them be prepared to gag if any touches your lips.

Cetaphil has two liquid cleansers- one is the extra gentle, which will never take your make-up off, and the other is for oily skin and make-up users and it will take the make-up off, the bottle is blue and green and in a pump, the gentle cleanser is not. The Alba products are always at stores like Whole Foods & Central Market- I'm not sure where you live though you can order it one line- the price varies from 10$-12$ depending on the store. Simple baking soda has been used for years as an exfoliant, it is natural and not harsh enough to make those microscopic abrasions in your skin that crushed walnut shells and other natural but harsh exfoliants will do- I keep baking soda in the shower in a plastic jar and use it all over my body- it's so inexpensive and effective. You will be overwashing your face if you use both products- the olay and then another cleanser to wash away the olay- baking soda will solve this problem for you and you can get rid of the olay all-together. If you using a make-up like revlon colorstay or something equally as harsh and hard to get off then you might want to consider switching to something else.

Re: Olay Daily Facials Intensives Clear Skin Lathering Cloths?

I have been using the Daily Facials Clarifying cloths for a year now. I don't know if those are the same ones you are referring to but I must say, this is the only thing that has kept my skin clear consistently. I used to have ALOT of blackheads and cysts. Now my skin is very smooth and clear except that once a month breakout. And believe me, I have tried it all pretty much except for Accutane. Antibiotics, differin, retin A, proactiv, clindymycin, etc. This is my routine. I cut the cloths in half and at night I use half the cloth to wash my face to remove makeup. Then in the morning or after I go to the gym I cut the remaining 1/2 into quarters and use it when I have no makeup on. It saves alot of $$ and 1/2 cloth is sufficient. I dont know who would need a whole cloth....your face would have to be huge. I hate Cetaphil. That stuff breaks me out worse than if I were to never wash my face at all. Bottom line is everyone's skin is different. Oh I also use a home microdermbrasion occasionally. That keeps my skin clear also.
Oh and I also use Olay Total Effects moisturizer. It is the only one that has never made me break out. Good Luck.

I want to use that Total Effects but am afraid of breaking out!
Also, are we all using baking soda every day to wash? Or only exfoliate? Can we suggest some Alba products?

Re: Olay Daily Facials Intensives Clear Skin Lathering Cloths?

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Since there are some mixed opinions out there and I don't want to just waste the cloths, I am going to finish up the box and see how my skin tolerates them...I know everyone's skin is different, but I am willing to use anything at this point! My skin has been clearing a little bit ever since I quit using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (I am now using generic regular OTC, TriNessa) and cut out some carbs from my diet. I am 21, in the prime of my life, so I don't want acne to ruin my self esteem like it has in the past!

BTW, I think the baking soda sounds like a good idea...I have lots of blackheads on my T-zone area that I want to exfoliate away! Oh yeah, does anyone know of a good toner to use during the winter months that won't dry out the skin??

Thanks for your opinions everyone! I will keep you posted!
