it's actually been working great for me.i'm in my 3rd wk..first week was alittle drying second wk a breakout occured the 3rd week i'm praticaly clear...happy with it so far....I have mild acne so maybe that helped too...
I have mild acne too, and I've been using differin for the past 2 weeks, every other night. I think my skin improves a little - I noticed that it's less oily, and I didn't get any pimples in the spots where they usually appeared. However, I hot some new ones in the spots that I never had them - I'm thinking it's the buildup of dirt coming to the surface of the skin, and also these "new" pimples kind of hurt if I touch them, are very red and very deep inside, you can't squeeze them out. I had one for about a week, I didn't touch it (althought it looked red, puffy) and it in now slowly disappearing on its own.
yes my breakout is similar...what differin does it acts as a intense exfoliator..lifting all teh debri from within the cloged pores outs by slowing shedding the skin..thats why u alot of tiems will get a bad intail breakout..new zits your skin may even appear worse before improving but trust me it will improve i was so discouraged last week my second week cux i was breaking out..red cysts...but then suddenly in the 3rd wee its improved drastically...stick with it..i'm using the differin gel..it come sin cream too..I was applying Klaron on at nite too but switched to clenia (topical samples from the derm)the clenia has sulfur in it..thats helping too..I need much less coverge now from my makeup which is a plus..
I been on differin gel since last summer, its been working pretty well for me.Im not 100%clear but i would say im about as clear as im going to get. When i do breakout its usually not anymore then 3 at a time.I think it has to do with my menstrual cycle, cause thats when i seem to breakout in a few.But hardly any compared to what it used to be.I dont really recall having any initial breakout, guess i was one of the lucky ones.I do recall tho that it took months for my face to get at least 90%,so try and be patient.Dont give up too soon .Take care
By the way, Differin does not exfoliate the skin. I causes the skin to grow new skin cells underneath the skin. It is a myth that Retin-A and Differin (retinoids in general) exfoliate the skin. They do not.
I am using Azelex Acid which exfoliates the skin and gets rid of red marks. It does this because it is an acid. Retinoids are not acids and do not shed the skin. The flaky and dry skin is mistaken for skin that is being exfoliated. I bought into that myth. Stupid!!! So far, I really like the acid that I am using. In 4 days worked better than being on Retin-A for 4 months. The Retin-A never got rid of the red marks, just made them more red. I notice a major improvement in the red marks and I have not been using that long.
