Did Tanning help anyones acne?

I started tanning 2 days ago for a photo shoot and it seems to be helping my acne....My back acne is clearing up and havent realy got much on the face. I read that it helps for like 2 weeks and gets worse but also heard theres 10% of people than benefit from it...Any Opinions or anything?

Re: Did Tanning help anyones acne?

Tanning initially helps your acne because it dries the skin, but within a few days your skin will rebound by producing more oil to counteract the dryness. This will cause even more acne than you had before... Sorry for the bad news..

Didn't help mine. I actually broke out when I was tanning.

Tanning did actually help my acne. However, after I got skin cancer I swore off all tanning beds! ( I didn't even really tan that often)

Re: Did Tanning help anyones acne?

yes tanning has helped me! i threw away all acne cremes, medications, etc when i discovered how much tanning helps my skin. So basically once a week i would tan. BUT, after i realized how harmful it is for you i started tanning every 2 weeks and noticed that tanning only helps if you do it regurarely. Once in a while or every other week actually makes acne worse because it produces more oil.

Re: Did Tanning help anyones acne?

tanning helped me a bit when i had acne but it doesnt "come back with vengeance"...it will just become more noticeable if you tan then stop tanning...so just go on a regular basis while also keeping it to a minimum cause too much tanning is definitely bad for your skin. moderate amounts of UV cannot be bad for you because my derm actually recommended it to me for vitamin d

Re: Did Tanning help anyones acne?

Ok Tanning Intially Helps Because Yes It Dries Out Your Skin But Eventually It Can Get Worse Sense Tanning Makes Your Skin Harder Which Makes It Tougher For Sweat Etc To Come Through Your Pores And There For Cause More Acne And It Is Unsafe To Tan In A Med Or Outside

I have heard that the sun is an important nutrient for the skin but in moderation. I don't know if this would also refer to tanning though.
