I've had a breakout on my back and since I'll be finally going back to work soon*knocks on wood* this is one of the very first things I want to address. At first it started off with 1 of 2 then just multiplied until it seems like they are everywhere. Most of them are pretty small but they are really red and noticable.
What are the best options to get rid of this in a reasonable amount of time...I'm not in no rush but I don't know if I'm willing to use something for months either. The next question is how to prevent a repeat??
you should wash your back when you wash your face with a mild or lightly medicated wash. it might take a few days to clear up but it should work. continue doing this regularly and it should help prevent breakouts.
Back acne is notoriously hard to clear up. You can try using benzoyl peroxide or salycylic acid washes or creams, or exfoliating your back in the shower. Can also try soaking in a hot bath with a handful of epsom or sea salts in it.
I've used several different things. First of all, I don't have cystic acne, so what I'm using may only work for my type of acne. I used head and shoulders. As long as you don't pick the back acne (the stuff u can reach) then it will clear up within i'd say a few weeks. Use it as a body wash. I'm an obsessive picker, or was until recently, and as long as I don't touch it, this stuff works. Other stuff I've tried, astringent, st. ives medicated scrub, proactiv. Proactic renewing cleanser also worked pretty well for the chest and back. But head and shoulders works very well over time to prevent zits.
I have what you might call a good amount of acne on my back or at least I did. I used Natures Cure body acne spray and it did the trick. Now what I need to get rid of is the red marks and after that I'll just get tattoos over the scars. Also, as for the tanning, I do that as well, but one thing, it could make it worse unless you keep doing it. It does make my red marks more noticable and you should invest in a nice before and after tanning lotion, made my skin soooo much better, its great!
