Anti Dandruff Shampoo

Would any anti-dandruff shampoo work or does it have to be head and shoulders? Thanks!

Re: Anti Dandruff Shampoo

I think the shampoo must have zinc in it. I believe zinc, as found in Head & Shoulders, is the key ingredient.

Talking Re: Anti Dandruff Shampoo

Here is something you may want to consider as well. It is a little pricey, but works with excellent results with me. My Derm recommended Denorex. There are a few different formulas but I am currently using the one with Coal Tar in it with great results. I will fore warn you that it will cause some stinging when applied, and or some tingling, but although I have sensative skin it doesnt appear to bother me that much. This is a lot stronger then head and shoulders, but like I said I am using it with great results.. As far as availability of this, most drug stores etc will carry it.. I go to Walmart for mine.. Good Luck

Re: Anti Dandruff Shampoo

I have Neutrogena with coal tar. It is 0.5%. Is that the same as what you have?

Re: Anti Dandruff Shampoo

Head n Shoulders made no difference in my acne.

You can also try Selsun Blue which has selenium in it. Selenium helps some people with their body acne.

Re: Anti Dandruff Shampoo

This may also be unrelated to the topic here, but another thing I have found which has significantly helped to reduce my body acne is the laundry detergent that I use.. It has no color added or fragrance of any sort to it, and the same with fabric softners. I really think that they dont soften a fabric, but rather make them smell nice, hence I dont use them. You might want to give this a try if you are not or have not already tried this.. It helped me.
