What kind of acne do you have? mild - moderate - severe?
What kinds of zits do you get? pustules - papules - whiteheads - cysts?
Do you have sensitive skin?
Did you use any other AHA products that didn't work?
Did Alpha Hydrox break you out more?
Does Alpha Hydrox help with redness?
I used Alpha Hydrox Serum. Made me break out more and made my skin oily.
I used a 12% glycolic face wash by MD forte. Didnt do anything.
Paula's choice also made me greasy. The only AHA product which I like is Neutrogena Healthy Skin Lotion. Its mild, but tends to help with dark spots. Otherwise, the only think that helps me with red marks is exfoliation by Microderm creams...
hey neutrogena healthy skin lotion is like a peel. the lowest ph allowed over the counter *without a clinci administering a peel * is a ph of 3.0 .. i have a list of the ph of AHA products in my book "how to wash your face " and the ph of the neutrogena healthy skin lotion is very low. like 3.2 ... its like doing a peel 2 X a day. i use it too - it really does help... i also found another product its called Sanitas glycotoner 5% and the ph is 3.1 .. thats the strongest you can go without a doctor. it also says to use 3 X a week. so i think of it as more of a peel than a toner. . i however am doing the glyco toner 2 X a day adn then putting the neutrogena healthy skin lotion on top. i know thats a lot but i got a lot of **** to fade from having acne real bad, and i still have those milia bumps - this is supopse to unclog the pores
I use this face wash that contains Alpha Hydroxy acid. It is from St. ives, "Hydroxy wash," usually used for wrinkles. What is great about it that it also contain salicylic acid. Great for acne, never broke me out and helps fade my scars.
I was a little bit afraid to use it at first because it had mineral oil in it, scared it would make me break out. However, it didn't. It must be because it is washed off so quickly, the mineral oil doesn't have a chance to clog my pores. Anyway, give it a try, it is good.
I used the neutrogena healthy skin cleanser, and it broke me out horribly. for the past 2 weeks it's looking like a bacterial disease has taken over my face, it's horrible. I think because i was like picking my face an after using that stuff that took off old layers of skin and left new skin, it made the new skin more susceptable to infection and the spreading of bacteria. whatdya guys think? do u think that's what happend?
fiona - could be. im guessing the picking has a lot ot do with it too.. like me for exampke i did a glycolic home type peel thing and then i put zit **** on my sores and the thing got a chmecial burn. so i guess you really gotta be caerful after the skin "peels" of picking and other things. since it is really sensitve. do u think my burns will heal
