hi,
i started taking spironolactone about last october (started at 50 mg- moved to 100 mg in november) and i haven't had a menstrual period since about the second week I was on spiro. I researched online and I found menstrual irregularity was a side effec of spiro. I decided to quit taking this drug (I'm switching to acutane in february), but I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences with the drug or advice for me.

Did you take a birth control pill along with the spiro?That's meant to regulate your period while on it and it's recommended to take a BC pill along with it.

Can i ask,did the spiro clear your skin at all?50-100mg seems quite a low dose.

well, i was taking it along with antibiotics and a topical cream. it helped clear my skin a little, but not much, which is why i am going to acutane next month.
I'm not on birth control with spiro...should i have been to help regulate my cycle?

Well i'd say so yes.You can be on it without but they recommend you to because it regulates your periods.

I've been on spiro for 2 months now, along with orthotricyclen. I'm taking 2 100mg pills each day and it hasn't worked at all. Just for those of you who want to know lol!
