Re: Milk Thistle Supplements

I don't know about birth control pills but milk thistle has strengthened my liver so now it can handle more hormones and my face is really clear. I'd say I had 15 pimples about a month ago before I started and now I have 2 old ones and brown marks.

Re: Milk Thistle Supplements

They say to take anywhere between 300-500 mg. I take 350 and it's doing fine for me.

Does this mean you can take a higher does of birth control. I know ortho tri cyclen can really cure you complexion but I get so nauseated on it. Would the milk thistle help me tolerate this higher dose?

Re: Milk Thistle Supplements

I don't think milk thistle will interfere with it in anyway. Milk thistle just strengthens the liver's cell and regenerates the liver so your blood is cleansed better.

Re: Milk Thistle Supplements

I read online today that it MAY decrease the effectiveness of the Birth Control Pill. It didnt say it will...it said it MAY just like antibiotics MAY do the same. Thats whats making me paranoid to start taking it.

Re: Milk Thistle Supplements

As soon as I started taking it I saw results. It took about 3 weeks for my face to really clear up and get rid of the old pimples.

Re: Milk Thistle Supplements

Well I've been taking it for a few days now, and nothing new has broken out. Although I get mild to moderate acne, and I find I cycle between a couple good weeks by a couple bad weeks. I'll post some longer term results to actually see if its effective over say a month or 6wks.
