This probably belongs in the Skin, Hair, and Nails forum, but that one doesn't appear to be very busy at the moment (no posts in this year or the last). When investigating various types of skin, I often see two particular categories of interest - oily skin and dry skin. Different methods of treatment are recommended for each, but I seem to have both. My face is extremely oily, but even a few splashes of water will dry it sufficiently that it not only feels uncomfortable but also causes a small degree of peeling (generally in the areas with acne, even though I don't use any treatment for my acne, let alone treatment that might dry my skin). A shower is worse; a moisturizer is usually necessary to present a reasonable appearance in public. Before long, however, my face becomes oily again, so much so that at least two typical "oil-absorbing sheets" are needed to clear it off.
Given my condition, what treatments might best handle these two problems? Is there any way to curb the production of oil? Can the drying be permanently stopped? At this point, I only use oil-absorbing sheets and moisturizer - both short-term solutions. Are there any more effective treatments available?
Thanks for any help.
