is hydroxy acid better than retin-a for fading dark spots?

hi,

is hydroxy acid better than retin-a for fading dark spots? 'cause i've been using retin-a for my acne for almost 4 months now and i've noticed very slow progress for my dark spots. so im wondering if hydroxy acids would do better?

thanks.

If you mean brown spots not red spots then you would want something that is a lightening prouct. The best ones contain hydroquinone. I think over the counter you can get 1-2% and you can get higher from your derm.Alpha-hydroxies and retin-a won't work like this will for pigmented spots.Avon has a hydoquinone product called banishing cream skin lightening tx. Haven't used it but heard it's good. If you talk to your derm you can probaly get Tri-Luma that's super good for fading spots. If you use these while using an AHA, they'll work even better but an AHA alone won't cut it.
