Question Accutane and running?

I am a long distance collegiate runner and I have noticed that it has been increasingly harder to run and do hard workouts while taking accutane. I have been taking it for about five months now. Does anyone know if the accutane could be affecting my running?

Re: Accutane and running?

Yes, it is affecting your running, I don't know the technical reasons, but most of us have had problems with exercise or extended physical activity while on accutane. I know it doesn't give you a lot of insight as to why this is happening but at least you know you aren't alone on this one!

yes i know what you mean. i am a tennis player, and while i was on accutane, it gave me horrible joint pain. I couldnt move across the court. This is because accutane dries your joints out. My derm said to drink extra of water for lubrication, and to take an advil (no tylenol product while on accutane!). good luck

Re: Accutane and running?

It is true. Accutane dries out your muscles, joints, bones, and all. I have heard MSM Sulfur works very well. Drink tons of water and take vit E. Hopefully, that will help. Good luck.
