I am making this poll for suggestions for new resolutions to acne treatments. i am in need of all of your help. This poll is for acne treatment products that you have "used" compared to two others. Please help by placing a vote on your reply of these 3 following choices

1) Proactiv Solution
2) Differin
3) Accutane
Sometimes i say to myself "WHY".......

Re: Acne Treatment poll

Ive used all 3 and none worked for me. Proactive cleared my skin for a few weeks and after using it for almost 2 years I decided it wasn't going to do anything more.
Differin didn't clear it at all ever.
Accutane gave me very bad and painful cystic acne and my dermatologist took me off of it.

Re: Acne Treatment poll

I have used Proactiv and I hated it. It didn't do anything for me. I am using differin right now and I think it is starting to help after a month of use. I haven't tried accutane yet but my acne is mild to moderate. I don't know though it still might be the next step!

Re: Acne Treatment poll

I used differin years ago and it worked well for a while.

Proactiv worked well for a while too, but I could never use the lotion (way too strong). I only used the cleanser and toner at night. Slowly I had to start using it less and less because of irritation/dry skin.

I don't think I would ever try Acutane. No Doctor ever suggested it, and I would have said no anyway.

Re: Acne Treatment poll

I've used all 3. Pro-active didn't do anything. Accutane cleared me up - not 100%, but like 97%. But I was also on the Pill at the time - Ortho-Tri-Cyclen. When I stopped the Pill to try to get pregnant, my skin started breaking out again - not as bad as before the Accutane, but probably 65-70% as bad. Derm put me on Differin and Cleocin-T. The Differin worked great after a few weeks, but then I conceived and could no longer use it. So now I'm waiting to go back on the Pill after I have my baby - will probably use the Differin gel while the Pill kicks in again. I typically use some benzoyl peroxide product nightly as well - like the Neutrogena Anti-Blemish spot treatment stuff, or whatever it's called. Put it on before bed. Also alternate washing my face with Cetaphil pump gel for oily skin and ScaCare Vitamin E Acne Care wash - great stuff.

Re: Acne Treatment poll

Let me just sum up my experience:

Proactive = Waste of time, money, and my own hopes
Differin = Kinda sorta worked for a bit, but still had like, 40 cysts around my chin
Accutane = 100% clear (not an exaggeration - NO ZITS OF ANY KIND) for about two years. After that, I have maintained staying about 85% - 90% clear.

Re: Acne Treatment poll

This is pretty interesting. Most of the products that have worked for most people dont always work for all, probaly we all have differnt genes, but other than that, these votes are becoming very definite.
