advice for fixing scars as a result of acne

Hi all,

I am in my early 30s now and rarely get any pimples anymore however I went through a very bad case of acne in my late teens to my early to mid 20s. I was basically off and on Roacutane for about 5 years which, let me say I don't regret for a moment and I am aware of all the negative publicity it has received of late.

My question is this - as a result of my acne I have some minor scaring on my face which I would like to fix if possible. Could anyone recomend a procedure I could take to fix the minor scaring as a result of acne.

Thanks

Warren

Avon chemical peel and the Avon banishing cream.

Re: advice for fixing scars as a result of acne

Right now, I am getting microdermabrasion treatments along with AHA peels at a plastic surgeon's office. So far so good. My largest scar (which wasn't "that" noticeable, but it was indented) is no longer indented and is now just a red mark. I still have three or four more treatments to go though.

Along with the micro and peels, I am using Renova and Neostrata 10% AHA gel that were both prescribed to me by the same doctor who is doing my other two procedures. At first, these two products made my skin a MESS (peely, red, some breakouts) but now my skin is smooth and red marks are drastically reduced.

If you want to go a much less expensive route, try Neutrogena Healthy Skin Lotion. It's really great at reducing red marks, but it doesn't make them go away entirely.

TCA Peels. It takes TIME, but they go away and after months you notice the difference.
