Any connection between acne and anger?

I'm completely free of acne after about 1 1/2 years of really bad acne on the face, nect, back and chest.

I noticed that I was really irritable, and angry at the time but now I feel much calmer.

Is is possible that theres a connection? (possibly hormones/androgens/testosterone?)

Has anyone else noticed this?

There probably is a connection because theres a connection between stress and acne for sure and stress and anger probably make your body produce the same kinds of hormones or whatever...i dunno ...thats just what id guess

I've noticed this too, but thought maybe its the chicken or egg syndrome. Which came first? Because I often find myself with a chip on my shoulder when my skin is bad- because I feel ugly, maybe having bad skin makes us irritable to those around us. I feel upset w those who have clear skin. During the rare times I have clear skin, I feel calmer because I know I look good.

I agree. Acne can definitely make you angry/irritable (I almost punched a hole though my bathroom wall/mirror this morning because I just can't live like this anymore), but I don't think anger causes acne!

I dunno really. A few months before I cleared up I did the whole cleanse/detox with milk thistle, cleansing foods, enemas (yikes!) etc. I started doing that in late dec, by begining of march I was completely clear.

Its weird too. I cleared up SO quickly. Literally from having lots of pimples to having none in about 3 weeks. Very strange.

I can't say for certain whether my eating habits contibutied to the acne demise, or whether it was on its way out of my system anyway. Though, while i did have acne food DID impact my skin.

I hope you find a way to get rid of yours - its a HORRIBLE thing to suffer.
