What is the best way to prevent/reduce peeling?

My derm has just put my on Tazorac again, the .05 Cream. It shouldn't be too harsh as I'm on the lowest dose and I'm using Cytaphil cleasner which is much more gentle than soap. However, it seems like any Retanoid like Retin-A or Differin that I go on eventually makes my face peel off like crazy. I can pull and pull and pull, nothing helps but Cytaphil moisturizer which only works for an hour. When I'm at school that is a problem.

Can anyone give me some advice so that I can know what to use before I start peeling?

Re: What is the best way to prevent/reduce peeling?

If you are peeling that bad using something like Differin then you are using way too much. What face cleanser do you use before you apply your topical? Here is why I never peeled at all when I started using Differin and Klaron for topicals: I would wash my face with a gentle cleanser (I use Dove soap for sensitive skin) if you are using a harsh cleanser and harsh topicals then your skin is going to react and peel. Then after I used the topical any time morning or night I would apply the Cetaphil moisturizer all over and my face never peeled. Also, only use a pea size amount of the topical.
