Well I know that I really messed my skin up by tanning in tanning beds constantly and getting in the sun too. This whole summer I have only tanned a little but not in the tanning bed only when I go swimming but I wear sunscreen. Now my skin is looking wonderful and it has really healed. It's just not worth it to burn yourself up when you are young to discover melanoma later in life. There are plenty of other options. I use natural glow by jergens and it gives me a great looking tan so I still look like I have been out in the sun but I haven't! Also, tanning and burning makes your skin thicker on your face which really starts to look ugly on females. My mom stopped tanning when she was 21 (which is my age too) because she didn't want the wrinkles and now she is 51 and looks 30 something! She has prettier skin than me!
personally i go in the son alot in the summer and i think it helps greatly, 90% of the time i wear sunblock which makes ur skin darker, but when u dont wear sunblock i think the sun helps even more it evens out ur skin tone and it makes ur pimples much less noticable ur skin will get a little red then turn to a tan, its very unhealthy to do but i get so fed up that i just dont care sometimes.
Clark, just wanted to let you know that the sun actually has the opposite effect of evening out your skin tone-it actually causes hyperpigmentation, but can take several years to show up. And if you have scars, it will make them much more permanent.
