torn skin around pimple

I picked and tore the skin around the pimple and now I have a huge red patch. Does anyone know what is the best way to heal this?

Re: torn skin around pimple

this happens to me often, i try to put neosporin on it and keep it covered with a bandaid for like a day or 2, its kinda hard if you don't wanna go out in public with a bandaid on your face, plus i fnid that if i wear one longer than a day or two my skin where the bandaid is also becomes irritated, its just to cover it until it stops bleeding/oozing er whatever. then i wait it out and try not to put makeup on it till its mostly healed, which also sux cuz i wanna cover it up, but don't wanna get makeup in the wound....hope this helps, good luck

I'm in the same prediciment right now, i too have a big red area surrounding the spot that has popped, i've never really had any luck at getting the redness to subside, at the moment i am applying alot of 99.9% aloe vera gel and letting the skin absorb it which has slightly faded the colour from bright red to pink but apart from that it's impossible to hide, i'm undecided as to whether to wear a plaster or not but sometimes i think that draws even more attension to the area.

Re: torn skin around pimple

Thanks for your help. I have polysporin so I used it last night. It seemed to help with the redness but left really dry patch. I think I will be staying home today and give it one more day. I think if I just leave it alone the dry skin will subside in a day. Cross your fingers.
