I read your response in Aaron's post about glycolic acids. You mentioned you only use serums or gels, b/c they have less fillers. I would like to use one, but haven't b/c I'm afraid of all of the ingredients clogging my pores.
Could you tell me what brands make gels, and serums--I've never seen them before.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to keep you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to keep you happy.
It can be frustrating when you don't know what products to trust. You should definately get yourself a Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and hunt around for some Non-comedogenic Ingredient Lists. That's what's helped me to find 95% of my products that cause me ZERO pore clogging/breakouts. Unfortunately, these aren't a guarantee that something, probably a natural ingredient, in there won't aggrevate you (could be allergic), but usually there aren't any problems. If there is, tends to be because one tried to use the products too often out of desperation... =(
Below are the one's that I've tried and definately reccomend:
Serious Skin Care's Glycolic Gel--Wierdest stuff, kinda moisturizing, but some people rave about it. I only tried it out a few times on my face, but what I realized is that it's great for clogged follicles. So Guys and Girls that get razor bumps, etc USE this!
Credential's Glycolic Serum or Natural Beauty's Glycolic Serum (cheaper)--same product, it's just a private label brand so companies can set their own price.--I use this every morning. Helps to bring a bit of warmth and smoothness to my complexion, brightens, lightly moisturizes, etc
Sage's 20% Smoothing Gel- Exfoilates, leaves a nice glow and helps clear zits. Use a pea size amount daily or occasionally use more to exfoilate faster or spot treat. It's more expensive formula compared to other gels she has so you may want to see which ingredients/formula appeals to you.
These are the ones I haven't tried, but they pass my test (non pore clogging):
Paula's Choice 8% AHA Solution (got a sample of this and I really don't need it, but I like the 2% BHA Solution so maybe it will make my skin look even better)
ProActiv's 6% Toner -people rave about this, but I've heard it could be drying so you may have to play around and see what frequency suits you.
There's more but I can't remember right now, but I have a list somewhere, so I'll post them later
