Question Minocycline Or Doxycyline?..

I have mild/moderate acne. Which one is best to take for my acne? how long does it take for you to see results? is there an initial breakout? also what are the side effects? -- if any!
tell me about your experience..Thanx

Hi...I had the same thing...mild/moderate acne but stubborn as he**. The doxy didn't help me but the mino has cleared my face totally. I also use benzaclin topical on my face. I have been using mino for almost three months and noticed almost complete clearing in the first month! Side effects for me were...the mino really upset my stomach and caused "digestive problems" =( I am taking 100mg a day. I believe my doc is going to take me off soon and see what the benzaclin can do by itself. One note..the benzaclin was really irritating to my skin at first...now I can use it every day without any irritation. Hope this helps. One more thing, I believe doxy is where most docs like to start becuase it is not as strong as the mino and it is cheaper...it may be all you need to help clear you skin. Good luck!

On Mino for 4 months. Definite improvement, but still the occasional cyst at time of month. No side effects. Good luck.

On mino for, about 2.5 months.

Right away it took the infection and inflammation out of the acne that I had, and ever since I started it I cleared, now I barely breakout at all.

The thing is I took it 2 years ago for 8 months and it never did a thing, now it works awesome.

hope this helps.
