My derm said she would only prescribe Accutane and Amnesteem, no other generics. I wouldn't worry about getting the Amnesteem, but I would question any other names of generics. There may be enough of a difference with the other brands that it's the reason why myderm won't prescribe them.
Originally the prescription was for Accutane without substitutions. The pharmacy had to call the derm to make a substituton to Amnesteem. The derm didn't write the prescription for Amnesteem originally because she wanted to have the option to tell the pharmacy exactly which brand of generic. When I talked to the pharmacy, they said the prescription could be written out for Amnesteem without subsitutions and they could not use another generic.
