Anyone know anything about NON-COMEDOGENIC products???
Hello Eveyone,
Last week when I went to my GP he put me on erythromycin for my acne and he also recommended
non-comedogenic products for my face, eg. foundation, moisterizers. Is anyone using these kinds or products or does anyone know anything about these products?

neutrogena has some products that are supposed to be non comedogenic ... most of the time if the product is non comedogenic it will say so on the bottle.. like non comedogenic or non acnegenic or something close to that ... aveeno has some too ... just be careful... just b/c it's says that doesn't mean it's true .. u gotta test them out to see 4 yourself.. good luck
The website of Sage skincare has lists of foundtions, blushes, sunscreens, shampoos, etc. that are mostly noncomedogenic. They also have a fantastic list of ingredients and ratings for how comedogenic and irritating they are. It is the article about being an Acne Detective.
Jim, I have to agree with you that just because a bottle says that the product is noncomedogenic, it is most definitely NOT always true!!! In her books, Paula Begoun explains that practically anyone can slap that claim on, and that it really does not mean anything!
Almost all Neutrogena products, for example, contain fragrance, coloring, and other ingredients that can be very comedogenic. I don't trust them for a second!
Hi Guys,
Thanks so much for your replies.
I have been reading alot about this NON COMEDOGENIC stuff and you're all right, just because it says its noncomedogenic it doesn't mean it is.
My GP recommended a cleanser called SPECTRO JEL. I have been using it for a week and it seems to really help me. I also found a line of products here in Canada that are very highly recommended by dermotologists, its called MARCELLE. These products are non commedogenic, non allergenic and contain no purfumes. I'm hoping they will do the trick.
Thanks again for all your help everyone!
