Shoulder and back breakouts

I'm 19 years old and haven't had any real acne problems for awhile. I drink a decent amount of water(don't know how much of a difference that makes? Wivestale or not?) but I've been having breakouts on my shoulders and back(only where the sleeves cover me when I'm wearing a T-Shirt). Is there anything I can buy to clear this up or what? It's not a BAD breakout. Just a few annoying pimples here and there.

I use Axe shower gel in the shower but it was doing it when I was using normal soap too..Why is this?

Re: Shoulder and back breakouts

If you're doing everything the same as before and breaking out only in the areas covered by the t-shirt ... it sort of seems like it's something about the t-shirt. Did you change your laundry detergent lately? Sometimes that will cause a breakout. I know that when I switched once, my bf got the same mild back breakout ... and it stopped when I switched back to the regular detergent.

Well its done it for awhile, at home and since I've moved to college. I use different detergent since I've been at school. I don't know

Re: Shoulder and back breakouts

I've never got acne there ... but some of the stuff that my bf has done when he gets it is to use a medicated body wash (just an over the counter one, for acne) and also, he uses this stuff called "Tend Skin" for razor burn and to prevent ingrown hairs when he shaves. He used that on his back/shoulders a couple times and that actually seemed to really help!

Sorry I can't be more help!

Wow that's ok. You helped me with the ingrown hairs stuff...

My last girlfriend liked...Umm...Shaved and it itched like mad because the ingrowns. Little off topic but I'll buy some of that if the next one really likes it like that too!

Ha ha ... just to clarify, I meant that I never get acne on my back/shoulders ... but that my bf does sometimes and it helped when he used the Tend Skin -- which he normally uses on his face.

Re: Shoulder and back breakouts

xeous, same thing happened to me.
Only difference, I started getting back and shoulder acne at 34.
Your body is probably producing alot of oil and this is whats causing the body acne.
The best product for body acne is Doxycycline.
You got to get this prescribed from a derm.
Doxycycline will control the oil your body is producing and clear your body acne.
There's 2 versions of doxycycline. One version costs 25 dollars and another version which is called Dorf, costs 162 dollars.
The one thats 162 dollars is the pure form version.
My pharmacist said there basically the same thing.
I get the one that's 25 dollars.
If you have health insurance, it will cost even less.
It costs 25 dollars without any insurance.

There is no shelf product you can buy that will stop the acne from growing.
Only an anti biotic will stop it.
The Doxycycline is 30 pills. Get the version thats 100 mg.
Take one pill a day

I would also recommend using Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub.
This has 2 percent Salicylic Acid and is very good for body acne.
Its the best scrub i'v used for body acne.
Leave this on your body for like 2 minutes then wash off.

When your body acne goes down you might have redmarks from the body acne.
The best thing for this is an AHA product.
I would recommend the Alpha Hydrox enhanced lotion.
It has 10% AHA in it.
It costs about 13 dollars.
They sell it in Eckerd and Riteaid.
This is the most amazing product.
I had really bad redmarks on my body and it got rid of all the redmarks.
It took about 3 months to get rid of all the redmarks.
