Anybody else notice this? When I go to bed, after showering and shaving (I do this at night), my face looks red and irritated, scars are more red, zits are more red and pronounced. But when I wake up, look in the mirror, my face looks 10x as good! Anybody know exactly why this is? Is it just because I haven't been f*cking with my face and irritating it? Because after I wash my face in the morning (very gently, with warm water, pat dry gently), it is red again. Has anybody actually tried washing there face only once a day? It sounds gross to me, but maybe if I could just get rid of the oil in the morning, it wouldn't irritate things as much as washing it. Just curious.
I think it may be from lying down at night. This would cause fluids to flow up to your face/head region, whereas during the day, whilst sitting or standing, body water gravitates more down to the legs.
The body water fills more of the facial skin and scars seem less pronounced. That's my hypothesis anyway. If correct, what it means is that drinking lots of water will help and also, lying down for an hour's afternoon nap may also help a little.
All the Best.

It could be the water temperature if you are washing with hot (or even warm) water. My skin all over my body is always red when I come out of the shower so naturally any marks would be more pronounced.
this is not uncommon. your face does most of its repair work between the hours of midnight to 6 am. also, try using a toner and moisterizer after cleansing. but make sure its a very mild toner that doesn't contain alcohol. also make sure the moisterizer doesn't have any oils. or try rinsing with cold water after washing with WARM water..it helps cool and sooth and helps reduce redness.
Hey!! I noticed that too! Whenever I wake up, my scars are A LOT less noticeable! Then later on in the day...their noticeable...and depressing . I guess its from lying on our face for so long.
